Misty Munnar tea valleys meeting still backwater channels — the two landscapes of a Kerala honeymoon from the UAE

4 Nights / 5 Days · From Dubai & the UAE

Kerala Honeymoon from the UAE — Munnar, Thekkady & Kumarakom, 5 Days

Five days made for two — land in Kochi after a four-hour flight, wake to mist rolling over Munnar’s tea valleys, wander Thekkady’s spice forests, and end it all drifting across Vembanad Lake at sunset.

5 Days Munnar · Thekkady · Kumarakom

The journey

One desert weekend traded for three worlds

Most honeymoons pick one landscape. This one gives you three. Kochi is only about four hours from Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi — close enough that five days buys you the misty tea hills of Munnar, the spice forests of Thekkady and the still lakeside of Kumarakom, with a private car and driver threading them together at your own pace. No group tours, no schedules that aren’t yours.

Ideal for: newly-weds flying out straight after the wedding, and couples marking an anniversary with the Kerala honeymoon they never took.

Munnar Thekkady Kumarakom

Duration

4 nights / 5 days

Route

Munnar → Thekkady → Kumarakom → Kochi Airport

Flights from the UAE

Direct flights from Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi to Kochi (COK) take about 4 hours; most land in the morning, so your honeymoon starts on Day 1, not Day 2.

Day by day

Your 5-day itinerary

1
Day 1

Land in Kochi & climb to Munnar

Met at Cochin International Airport after your morning flight from the UAE, then a scenic drive of around four hours up through waterfall country — the cascades of Cheeyappara and Valara tumbling beside the road — to a tea-valley stay in Munnar. Check in, warm up with highland chai, and watch your first Western Ghats dusk settle over the estates.

2
Day 2

Munnar — tea estates, tahr & viewpoints

A full day among the hills for just the two of you: morning light at Eravikulam National Park, home of the endangered Nilgiri tahr, the mirror-still waters of Mattupetty Dam, a walk through the story of Kerala tea at the tea museum, and a sunset viewpoint over valleys stitched in green.

3
Day 3

Over the cardamom hills to Thekkady

Wind over the cardamom hills to Thekkady, where the air smells of pepper and cloves. Walk a spice plantation with a local guide, then drift across Periyar Lake on a boat cruise as the forested shoreline slides past — watch for elephants, bison and otters at the water’s edge.

4
Day 4

Descend to Kumarakom’s lakeside

Leave the hills behind and descend to Kumarakom on the shore of Vembanad Lake. Settle into a lakeside resort, then glide through paddy-lined canals on a couple’s sunset shikara cruise — kingfishers flashing past, the water turning gold, and nowhere else to be.

5
Day 5

Slow lake morning & fly home

A slow start — birdsong over the water, breakfast on the veranda, one last look at the lake — before the easy drive of around 2.5 hours back to Kochi airport for your flight home to the UAE, married life properly begun.

Good to know

Your Kerala honeymoon — frequently asked

Is 5 days enough for a Kerala honeymoon from Dubai?

Yes — Kerala honeymoon packages from Dubai work beautifully in a 5 day window because the flight to Kochi is only around four hours and most Gulf departures land early in the morning. You get two nights in the tea hills, one in the spice forests and one on the backwaters, with a private car linking them — unhurried from start to finish.

When is the most romantic season for a Kerala honeymoon?

October to February is the classic choice — crisp, misty mornings in Munnar and golden evenings on the lake. The June to September monsoon is a different kind of romance: waterfalls in full voice, rain on the tea hills and far fewer travellers about, so it feels wonderfully private — as long as you’re happy to plan around the showers.

Can you arrange privacy-focused stays?

Yes — tell us on WhatsApp that it’s your honeymoon and we’ll shortlist characterful private stays with valley or lake views, and arrange touches like candle-lit dinners where the property offers them. Every stay is hand-picked for the two of you, from standard to deluxe.

Can we add an Alleppey houseboat night?

Easily — every Fetraco journey is tailor-made. A private houseboat night on the Alleppey backwaters slots in naturally after Kumarakom, stretching this into a 6 day route. Tell us your dates and we’ll build it in.
